Fans claim Jake Paul's win over Anderson Silva was 'rigged' as video suggests knockdown punch 'didn'

A fan theory which suggested Jake Paul's win over Anderson Silva was 'rigged' has seemingly been disproven by slow-motion footage.

The American YouTuber-turned-boxer moved to 6-0 (4 KOs) on Saturday night as he beat the UFC legend by unanimous decision.

The key moment of the fight came in the final round.

During an exchange in close quarters, Jake floored Silva with a right hand.

The knockdown sealed his victory.

However, footage of the moment is now circulating from one specific angle which makes it look as if the punch didn't even land.

Some fans have reacted to this by suggesting the bout was 'rigged'.

Another clip has since emerged though and makes it clear that Jake did in fact connect with his right.

The judges’ scorecards from the fight have also now been revealed.

They show that after the first two rounds there was nothing to split the fighters.

Midway through the fight, Jake was up on two of the cards, although one judge had it all square.

By the end of the fight, the final scores read 78-73, 77-74 and 78-73 all in favour of the social media star.

At the post-fight press conference, Jake called out Nate Diaz and then set his sights on Canelo Alvarez as he said: “Canelo, you’re getting old.

“You looked weird against [Gennady Golovkin], I still want that fight as well.

“I said it 18 months ago and I was sitting in a room just like this and everyone was like, ‘haha, f****** idiot’.

“And now 18 months later, here we are and when I say that, maybe people are taking it a little bit more seriously now and I still mean it and I still want that fight.”
