Jaden Smith gets spacey with GQ: me and Willow are scientists

Jaden Smith has a new profile in GQ to promote nothing but Jaden. He doesn’t have any acting projects coming until next year, so I guess he’s just being him. The photo shoot is funky, and you can see it here. I’ve been a fan of Jaden’s antics since he started swerving too hard and rocking a dress at Coachella. He mostly seems harmless unless he’s telling his followers to drop out of school, and that Jaden has returned. He gets spacey in this interview and makes me realize this 17-year-old kid has far too much time on his hands.

All of this madness is down to Will and Jaden’s refusal to open their eyes when it comes to raising their children. They’re so permissive as parents, and I hope it doesn’t eventually backfire. Will honestly believes Jaden is selfless because he refuses to be a slave to money (which is easy to say when you’ve got millions). The Smiths are doing their kids a disservice in the long run, but they don’t see it coming. Now we’re receiving shades of the Jaden who insists aliens exist and says he can control time. This GQ interview is whack. Maybe Jaden’s not like Galileo, but he’s definitely like Banksy. In 10 years, Jaden Smith will disappear! Don’t worry, he’s only going off the grid. Maybe he’ll move into the pyramid he built:

On fame: “It’s fun bro. That’s what a lot of people don’t realize. It’s fun. It’s so much fun. It’s the best thing. People think you’re crazy – I feel like it’s an honor, actually, for people to think I’m crazy. Because they thought Galileo was crazy, too, you know what I’m saying? I don’t think I’m as revolutionary as Galileo, but I don’t think I’m not as revolutionary as Galileo.”

He builds everything: “Like, the clothes I’m wearing right now, done it on my own. I built my own bed, I built my own closet, um, I built two closets, I built four beds, I built, um, one pyramid … One pyramid, yeah. It’s at my parents’ house. Half of a pyramid. The tip is missing, but the whole structural thing is built, and it sits at 12.5 feet tall. I’ll Instagram a picture of it once this comes out, so people know what I’m talking about. Because it’s supposed to be 14 feet tall or 16 feet tall, but the tip of the Giza pyramid is actually cut off. There’s no tip. It’s missing. So I was like, ‘I want to have a missing tip on here, too.’ Because I copied the exact 57.1 degrees that the Giza pyramid is. Obviously I don’t have two miniature pyramids next to it. But I have a little pyramid in my actual room, too. One that’s just like three feet tall.”

Science, man: “Me and Willow are scientists, so everything for us is a scientific test upon humanity. And luckily we’re put in a position where we can affect large groups of human beings at one time … And that’s what I really encourage kids to do, is learn the things that you want to learn, because then not only will school become fun, but it will make your dreams come true. I rarely go to parties. My whole life is just dedicated on learning and breaking like, the craziest records of life, and being like one of the craziest human beings to ever exist. That’s me … I just want to teach people how to be comfortable. Stop being so scared.”

Watch out, world: “I’ll go to college. I want to set up office at MIT just so I can learn and bring in new technologies into the world.”

He’s going off the grid like Banksy: “No one will know where I am in ten years. They’ll see me pop up, but they’ll be like, ‘Where’d you come from?’ No one will know where I’m at. No on will know who I’m with. No one will know what I’m doing. I’ve been planning that since I was like 13 … It’ll be kind of like Banksy. But in a different way. More of a social impact. Helping people. But through art installations … You know what I’m saying? So I’m just dedicating my whole life to helping the world.”

Jaden has yet to graduate from high school. I think he has another year, and we’ll see a Kylie Jenner-esque cap-and-gown celebration. I’m pretty sure he has no idea what a real scientist does. Will he really go to college, MIT even? I couldn’t tell you, but it’s a good thing this kid has money because he has no sense of reality. Part of me wants to continue thinking he’s awesome and harmless, and none of this behavior and weirdness is his fault. We’ll see if he eventually shows off that pyramid. So much crazy!
