Queer Love Are Sam and Aussie Still Together?

Netflix's The Ultimatum: Queer Love takes fans on a bumpy yet meaningful ride as the LGBTQ+ cast of women and non-binary reality stars dig deep to figure out if marriage is viable option for their relationships — with a heart serving of drama, of course. And with the trial marriages in full swing, the stakes are at an all-time high for the cast’s original relationships.

Sam and Aussie from ‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’ were on two different pages early in Season 1.
“When we first touched hands, it was like something you see in the movies,” Sam recalls about meeting her partner Aussie. “It was almost like the universe brought us together.”
Aussie also admitted to feeling an immediate spark upon meeting Sam. “Time stood still,” Aussie adds. “Yeah, it was just magical. Like, butterflies and rainbows and unicorns.”
However, the duo is at a crossroads, with Sam ready for marriage and Aussie wanting to live together for five years before making that commitment. “Five years sounds like a long time,” Sam points out. “I’ve been waiting for like 10 already!”

Fortunately for Sam, Aussie didn't have any doubts about her being the one. However, the reality star admits to having a longer “processing time” than Sam.
And that’s where the trial marriage comes in. If all goes according to plan, the reality romance experiment will “accelerate” Sam and Aussie’s relationship and end in a one-way ticket to marriage.

Some trial marriages weathered better than others, and neither Sam nor Aussie bonded well with their new partners in the experiment.
When Sam and her trial spouse Tiff move in together, they immediately but heads over Tiff’s dog. With Sam refusing to let her partner’s dog sleep in bed with them, Tiff opts to sleep on the couch with her pet, prompting an explosive argument between the duo the next morning.

As for Aussie and Mildred, the newly formed couple initially connected, but their flame fizzled out upon Mildred meeting Aussie’s close friend. “Ever since I met Aussie's friend, Mo, I notice a different person in Aussie,” Mildred explains.

During Episode 9, titled "Ultimatum Day," the couples had to make the decision on whether or not to remain engaged or walk away from their partners for good. As Sam and Aussie prepare themselves for what could be their last meet-up, they both share their feelings about their coupledom.

"Throughout my time being here in this experience, I've come to the realization that there are multiple layers to my ultimatum," Sam says. "I don't think it's just about getting engaged and someone not being ready. I just deserve someone who is willing to grow with me and I don't think I can be tied down by someone else's stuckness."
As for Aussie, she reveals that she was once ready to throw in the towel on the experience.
"I was ready to walk out of this experience at one point," Aussie says. "And I stuck with it and I'm so grateful that I did. Today, I'm feeling really scared. It's now time to make my final decision."
Aussie also shares in the car ride to the ultimatum that she felt that she "wasn't good enough" for Sam.

However, it's clear that the experience has changed Aussie's outlook on marriage.
"This experience has helped me redefine marriage for myself," Aussie tells Sam.
Aussie tells Sam a story about two species of penguins that search for rocks to gift their special someone once they find their life mates. Aussie shares that she relates to the story since she feels like "she found her lifelong mate in Sam."

Aussie presents Sam with a gemstone that represents a token of their love and how far she's come. Aussie gets down on one knee and presents Sam with another rock, an actual engagement ring.
Aussie asks Sam, "Will you marry me?"
Sam replies, "Yes."
During Episode 10, which showcases the reunion, the pair revealed that they are still together and currently planning their nuptials.
