Publish date: 2024-05-20

How would you have felt if $500,000 worth of merch just went up in flames? Devastated? Hurt? In Pain? Well, Logan Paul felt all of the above when a solid gold bottle of Prime Hydration was incinerated right in front of him. Paul and his business partner, KSI are celebrating the sale of 1 billion Prime bottles.  And in this celebration, the duo launched a 48-hour competition that only the two could have conceptualized.

Prime was launched 2 years ago. And ever since then, the brand has performed beyond expectations. Both Paul and KSI have masterfully leveraged their clout to push the products into the daily lives of their fans in both the UK and the US. Moreover, such strategic efforts have made the brand a disruptor in the energy drinks market. So much so that it is all poised to register a staggering $1.2 billion in sales by the end of 2023. One such strategy was an effort of the brand to celebrate a massive feat they had achieved.

KSI and Logan Paul start a ‘golden’ opportunity to bag $500,000

In their effort to project Prime as a brand like never before, ‘Maverick’ and ‘JJ’ started a 48-hour challenge to celebrate the 1 billion bottle sales of their energy drink. In a video, the duo explained that fans from both the US and the UK could win a solid gold bottle of the energy drink. All they had to was unlock a bulletproof glass that protected the bottle. Fans on both ends of the Atlantic Ocean (UK and US) could participate in the contest. There would be one pop-up store in both countries with a similar setup.

The catch here? Only one of these stores could win the contest. As per the rules, fans would get 20 seconds to guess a 6-digit code to unlock the glass. And if they fail to unlock it in 48 hours, the bottle will be dipped in fuming heat, destroying it completely. Further, the sooner one location would have its case unlocked, the other one would have its bottle incinerated. And that is exactly what happened.

A young Arsenal fan managed to unlock the case and win the bottle in England . On the other side of the ocean, the bottle was engulfed in flames. It was automatically incinerated, leaving Logan Paul visibly hurt.

The bottle was made by Mark Rober, a former NASA engineer. A statement explained the sentiment behind the contest. It read, “We do everything BIG. Since we created PRIME, we’ve made our own blueprint when it came to marketing, scaling, and building the brand. In a short period of time, we’ve become the fastest-growing beverage company in history, selling our one-billionth bottle in just year two.”

With his business booming, where does he take his career next?

Maverick hangs his boxing gloves?

Logan Paul has hinted at ending his stint in the boxing ring. In a conversation with Fox Business, he said, “I think I’m retired from boxing. I’m going to be a wrestler now.”

He further explained how the sport is on the brink of a collapse. Paul added, “No more money in boxing, every company is going broke. Full-time wrestler. Beat Rey Mysterio. Fair and square for the US Championship. It feels great. It was a dominant performance. Some frog splashes, some punches, it feels good.” He fought against Mysterio a week ago at the WWE Crown Jewel 2023, winning the fight to secure his first title in WWE.

Almost a month ago, Logan Paul entered the boxing ring to face Dillon Danis. On fight night, Paul exhibited his boxing acumen. Meanwhile, Danis hardly managed to establish his presence in the ring. Eventually, the fight ended prematurely after Danis was disqualified for trying to execute a guillotine choke on Paul.

Now with this declaration about his potential departure from the sport of boxing, the world awaits what he will do in WWE. He has only eight fights in his pro-fight career with the WWE and is definitely here to stay.
